Horse Drawn Carriages have been a mainstay in New York City culture since the beginning of colonization and they remain a very popular way to view the wonderful sights of the city. The first section includes passing through the Harlem Meer, the Lasker Pool and Ice Rink, the Dana Discovery Center, The Lock, The Ravine, The Great Hill, and The Conservatory Garden.
In the Second section you can see the wonderful Tennis Courts, the East and North Meadows and the Reservoir. Section three is comprised of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Turtle Pond, The Great Lawn, The Belvedere Castle and the Delacorte Theater. Section 4 will take you through areas like The Lake, The Boathouse, The Conservatory, The Naumburn Bandshell, Rumsey Playfield and the Bethesda Terrace. The last section includes the Bronx Zoo, the Arsenal, The Dairy, The Wollman Rink, The Carousel, The Tavern on The Green, the Sheep Meadow, The Pond and the Nature Sanctuary.
Prices vary depending on which trail and company you decide to go with, usually there is a minimum time that carriages can be booked for. It is possible for your to negotiate prices with the driver, so put on your negotiating skills and you could land yourself a good deal. Typically prices will range from $50 to $80 depending on which trail you ride through. It is definitely an experience that you don’t want to miss no matter what season you visit the city.
