Brooklyn-a fantastic location to spend your holidays

Brooklyn is one of the most populous boroughs of New York. There is so much to explore here that it is flooded with tourists every year. It is known for its parks, island, and museum as well as also has an amazing sports history.

The public park located in central Brooklyn, the Prospect Park has an area of around of about 585-acre. What draws the attention of people is the Long Meadow, which is approximately about 90 acre (36 ha) meadow. Moreover, the Picnic House here consists of a large number of houses offices and a hall. In addition to this, there is also Litchfield Villa, Prospect Park Zoo which is managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society. The list doesn’t end here and also comprises of the Prospect Park Bandshell where outdoor concerts are held during the summertime, along with lots of sports and fitness activities. Another location which you would love to go is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens which is in the vicinity of the Prospect Park. Tourists have a lot to see here  which includes a cherry tree esplanade, a rose garden, a Japanese hill and pond garden, a fragrance garden for the blind, a water lily pond esplanade, conservatories, a rock garden, a native flora garden, a bonsai tree collection, and children’s gardens and discovery exhibits. The Floyd Bennett Field has been converted into the National Park System. In fact there is a lot to see over here.

Another most adventurous and exciting location is the Coney Island. You can feel the adrenaline rush on the Cyclone rollercoaster. For those who love excitement can also try the 1920 Wonder Wheel and other rides Astroland. In fact the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is also held here every year. Another interesting spot is the New York Transit Museum where you can have a lot at the historical artifacts of the New York subway, commuter rail and bus systems. There is yet another location which is the Green-Wood Cemetery and consists of rolling hills and dales, several ponds, and a baroque chapel. Many famous people have been buried here which include F.A.O. Schwarz (1836–1911), toy store founder; William M. “Boss” Tweed (1823–1878), and actor Frank Morgan (1890–1949).

In fact this place also has a glorious sports history. Many of the well-known sportsmen have their roots in Brooklyn. Besides, it also has a grand public library. There is a lot to enjoy here and I am sure you would love to visit this place if you happen to plan a trip to New York, the city which never sleeps.
